Curry in a hurry, recipe

Curry in a Hurry

There are some curries you can make quite quickly, providing you have the essential store cupboard ingredients at hand. One of them is Keema with Peas.

Keema is the Indian name for minced lamb.  Minced lamb with peas is one of my favourite food combinations, and makes a delicious curry. It is quick and easy, and ideal if you fancy a curry and don’t have a lot of time.

You will need:

Basic tomato sauce

500g minced lamb (keema)

200g frozen garden peas

Method

Keema PeasCook the tomato sauce as per the directions given in the YOU FOOD recipe. For this dish add a whole tin of tomatoes, as these go well with keema. Once the tomato sauce is ready, add the minced lamb, stir, add a little boiling water and bring to a simmer. Lower the heat, cover the pan and cook for about 30mins, stirring occasionally to ensure that it does not get too dry and stick to the bottom of the pan.  If it does dry out, add a little boiling water, but not too much. Then add the peas and cook for a further 5 minutes. Taste and add more seasoning if required. If you want more gravy, then add a little more water and cook till done.

This can be served with rice, chapattis or naan breads.

Enjoy!
