Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen

Nigel Slater (Simple Suppers presenter) and farmer Adam Henson (known from Countryfile and Lambing Live) have teamed up for a new BBC One series in which they will prepare meals straight from the land. Their base for the series is a working farm in the Cotswolds run by the Righton family.

The series, Nigel and Adam’s Farm Kitchen, is designed to show viewers how to get more from their ingredients, where it comes from and how it reaches the table.

The four-part programme explores recipes using the top 50 most commonly bought foods and attempting to grow own ingredients such as rice and Durum wheat – which are not normally grown in the UK.

The pair will also teach each other new skills as Nigel learns to rear three pigs, while Adam collects tips on how to prepare a roast. Also some of the produce is sold to the public to raise cash for BBC Children in Need.

The four-part series that traces food from farm to fork started on Wednesday 20th November 2013.
