The King’s Head, Restaurant Ivinghoe

The King's Head, Restaurant Ivinghoe

Full Description

Summary: Situated in beautiful, ivy clad 17th century building overlooking the village green, the traditional dining room features oak beams and an open fireplace and offers a taste of olde England, but chef Jonathan O’Keefe’s menus are more modern. Carpaccio of yellow fin tuna with tomato tartare;  herb salad and sautéed Scottish scallops with braised gem lettuce; and crispy pork belly and Granny Smith vinaigrette,  are three of the starter options. Main courses offer fine ingredients and careful, technical cooking – think breast of pheasant wrapped in pancetta and sage, with braised thigh, spätzle, and pheasant jus.  For Sunday lunch, there is roast beef from the Buccleuch estate, with Yorkshire pudding.   The dining room seats 60 and offers an à la carte menu at lunch and dinner.  Additionally the Bon Appetit lunch menu  (Monday to Saturday only) is good value.
