Food ethos
Full range of sweets, sold from jars, so you can choose as few or as many as you want.
This sweet shop is one of the oldest traditional sweet shops in England, and is the type of place you have only ever seen in films; or, if your memory goes back long enough, you may just have been lucky enough to have sweet shops around like this when you were a child.

It is located in a 16th Century building, in the picturesque village of West Wycombe, which is owned by The National Trust, surrounded by an area of Oustanding Natural Beauty.

The sweets are all sold in large, tall jars, and there are over 500 to choose from.  You take the jars of your choice to the counter, and they will weigh out however many you want from each jar.

Their range includes:  liquorice allsorts, humbugs, sweet baccy, west indian limes, candy sticks,  anglo bubbly bubblegum, army and navy, sweet peanuts, cough candies, fruit drops, herbal tablets, gummies, jellies, rock, plain, milk or yoghurt covered nuts and fruits, nougats, fudges, coconut ice, liquorice (including Dutch style), chocolate bars, mints, gums, lollypops, along with sugar- and gluten-free varieties, to name but a few of them!

In addition, they serve hot and cold drinks, and cakes, and have three tables with seating. They also sell newspapers and magazines, and have a fairly large selection (for a small shop) of second-hand books.

All in all, this lovely little sweet shop is like a time capsule and a children’s fantasy wrapped up together, and I would urge you to pay it a visit.  There is the “Hellfire” Wycombe caves attraction just around the corner, which has a café, and the village has three pubs, one of which serves food, so this village is a great venue for a day out.
