Vegetables in Autumn Leaves

Vegetables in Autumn Leaves

Full Description

The Autumn leaves provide an interesting presentation idea – you don’t eat them!     Choose your selection of fresh vegetables, and wash them well, but don’t peel them.  Cook them by boiling in a pan of water.  Cook them well, beyond crisp, but not overdone and soggy.    Then drain and arrange your vegetables on a hot stone, and cover with plenty of Autumn leaves.   Last year’s leaves, which are starting to decompose, provide a more earthy “cover” for your vegetables.   Prepare a bowl of melted butter, which you may choose to season lightly.   Then ask your guests to forage in the leaves for the vegetables, crush them lightly in their fingers and dip them in the butter.  It’s something a little different !
